WELCOME.
I’m Ami (they/them), a trauma-informed somatic therapist and movement facilitator based in Folkestone, Kent. I work online and outdoors in nature.
I support people who are living with grief, trauma, chronic illness and life transitions. Especially those who have tried less relational forms of therapy and know they need something slower, deeper, and more embodied.
This is work for people who are curious about themselves, aware of the wider world, and wanting support to meet life with more honesty and care.
THE ACT OF HEALING IS NOT A CASE OF BECOMING A NEW PERSON. IT’S ACTUALLY A HOMECOMING, A RETURN TO YOURSELF. IT’S NO LONGER REJECTING WHO YOU ARE, IT’S LIVING IN TRUTH, HONOURING YOUR NEEDS & AND COMING BACK TO RELATIONSHIP. IT’S SAYING YES TO ALL OF LIFE.
This work maybe for you if…
You live with chronic illness, exhaustion, or nervous system overwhelm.
You are meeting grief, loss, or deep change.
You understand why things are hard, but your body hasn’t caught up.
You notice trauma patterns, parts, or responses you want support with.
You want therapy that honours the collective, not just the individual.
You’re not looking to be fixed… but to be met.
WE DELIGHT IN THE BEAUTY OF THE BUTTERFLY BUT RARELY ADMIT THE CHANGES IT HAS GONE THROUGH TO achieve THAT BEAUTY.

HOW WORKING TOGETHER FEELS OVER TIME…
Working somatically is not about quick solutions or becoming someone new.
It’s about learning how to be with what’s already here.
Clients often describe…
Feeling safer and more resourced in their bodies
Meeting discomfort with more compassion and choice
A softer relationship with grief and vulnerability
Greater capacity for pleasure, creativity, and connection
A growing sense of belonging, within themselves and the wider web of life
We move slowly, relationally, and with respect for your limits.
How I work with you…
My approach is trauma-informed, body-led, and relational.
It weaves together somatic therapy, parts work, nervous system education, and movement.
I don’t believe healing happens in isolation.
This work is always held within a wider context: community, systems, land, and collective experience.
I do not position myself as someone who can fix you.
I walk alongside you as part of a wider web of care.
“I’d never tried therapy before, but was feeling stuck and couldn’t work out what was going on. I found Ami through Instagram and there was something about them that made me feel safe to reach out. 10 months in, I feel like I understand myself better, I feel like Ami has given me the tools and insight into life and has helped me through some really big and scary moments of my life. Having sessions with Ami has been the best investment in myself and their non judgemental and gentle approach to our sessions has made it so much easier to do something that is ultimately very vulnerable and quite scary! Thanks so much Ami!”

This is where I share my insights into life.
