WELCOME TO THE WOLF AND THE WILD THING

My name is Ami (They/Them) and I am a trauma informed somatic therapist & movement facilitator. I am based in Folkestone, Kent. Currently working with clients for therapy online or outdoors in nature.

My training is in trauma informed somatic therapy with the ISOHH, a holistic and human approach to therapy which includes opportunities for developing a better understanding of our bodies and how they impact our therapeutic journey.

I have also completed over 500hrs of training with Authentic Flow Tribe in Yoga & Somatic Ecstatic Dance & somatics through the lens of Body Mind Centring, all of which are an accessible & beautiful way to learn to move our bodies from a place of being rather than doing. I teach both online and in person.

I have lived through many lives and navigated huge challenges. I am Autistic & also have C-PTSD and have spent years working with and healing my own trauma & body. It was a natural step to choose to guide others on their own path.

I am fully accredited by the ACCPH.

The act of transformation is not a case of becoming a new person. It’s actually a homecoming, a return to yourself, it’s no longer rejecting who you are, it’s living in truth and meeting your needs. It’s choosing the life you actually want.

WOULD YOU LIKE A MORE MAGICAL LIFE?

Many of us live with trauma alive in our bodies. And many of us have tried various things to tackle this. You might be at the beginning of this journey, perhaps tired of always repeating the same patterns or feeling stuck or maybe you are well on the path and hit a dead end.

I was the same. Years of therapy, coaching and reading endless books about how to not be so broken or to keep making such a mess of things. I knew WHY but I wasn’t feeling. My body was not a part of the conversation. This was when things started to shift.

And I can tell you honestly, that there is no quick fix, we don’t need to be fixed and I am not in the market of magic bullets or snake oil. Neither do I believe in a destination. We are ever evolving beings in this experience of life and it’s through a constant curiosity and softening that we can start to move through this life with all its challenges with more ease.

And this is the journey I can walk alongside you on.

One of the most magical parts of this life is the adventure of fully meeting all parts of ourselves. This is the work, not curing or fixing but being curious and compassionate.

Click below to find out more about how we can get you a little bit closer to a more magical & full life where all of you is welcome.

WE DELIGHT IN THE BEAUTY OF THE BUTTERFLY BUT RARELY ADMIT THE CHANGES IT HAS GONE THROUGH TO achieve THAT BEAUTY.

The ways I can support you as a therapist…

I am a long term student of grief and believe that it’s our grief that flows like a river underneath most of our trauma. So many people struggle with grief and much of my work is creating spaces for grief to be experienced and metabolised.

I am also trained in Parts Therapy and use this widely throughout my work with clients, both in processing AND building somatic & relational awareness around all our different parts and expressions.

There is a coaching element to the work I do with people. I offer knowledge on our nervous systems & our bodies, share tools for working with complexity, share insights from my own experiences, coach around neurodiversity and have a wide range of tools & practices I can share to support peoples journeys.

I am committed to decolonising my work as much as possible. I attend monthly office hours with Dr Jennifer Mullan from decolonising therapy and honour the collective & systemic harms that are deeply rooted in our trauma. I honour our entanglement and that healing is not something that can happen alone.

I am a forever student of the body & land. Much of my training is through the lens of Body Mind Centring with Authentic Flow Tribe. Including the body in our process means knowing the body and this is woven throughout all of my work, both one to one and in groups.

Importantly, I do not view myself as someone who can ‘fix’ you. I am here to support you and that will always be as part of a wider web of care, as it’s our separation that creates the conditions for trauma & suffering. This work will always call us back into entanglement with the bigger body.

This is where I share my insights into life.
