SHAKE THE DUST

Fortnightly from Tuesday 7th October at 7pm at The Loft in Folkestone.

I am so excited to be sharing SHAKE THE DUST at the loft in Folkestone.
Next one: Tuesday 7th October at 7pm

This is a journey between perpetual movement, rest release and free movement.

Shake the Dust is more than just a workout- it’s a transformative, embodied experience for your body, heart, and mind. Each session is set to a powerful, poetic theme that guides you through waves of perpetual motion, deep rest, release, and wild freedom.

Expect a dynamic mix of shaking, jumping, dancing, intuitive movement, and yes, some yoga, Pilates, somatics, and bodyweight training too. Every class is powered by a carefully curated playlist designed to move you as much as your body.

Whether you’re a yogi looking to break out of your usual flow, or just craving cathartic release, SWEAT, and a stronger, more resilient body, this is your space to shake it all out and come alive. We will gather every other Tuesday from the 7th October at Loft Studio to move together and the first session on the 7th October is FREE!

The space…

Loft Studio in Folkestone is a brand new venue. This space is inspiring with it’s exposed brick & industrial vibe plus big windows. It’s also huge, so lots of space to move AND the music sounds great in this space. You can find the space above the Petticoat Lane vintage market on the high street. Full address is 9-17 Sandgate Road, Folkestone, CT20 1SB. The entrance is the main entrance to the market and someone will be down there to greet you just before 7pm PLEASE BE ON TIME or we can’t guarantee entry after 7pm.

Your space holder…

Ami Robertson (they/them): Trauma informed somatic therapist and embodied movement practitioner. I have a deep curiosity for life, the mystery and our human experience. Most of my work is walking alongside people as they explore their trauma and do the great work of meeting themselves. I work with many modalities and embodied movement and dance is one of my favourite ways to gather people to explore to the arts of remembering & reclaiming. My work is in line with the cyclical nature of life, deepening into the relentless truth of death & rebirth.

ACCESSIBILITY

Music is a fundamental element of a Shake the Dust class. This means its not a background support like in a yoga class for example. It can be big & loud and using our voices is encouraged so if you are sensitive to sound this might feel too much. If you still wish to give it a try then I would recommend ear plugs and/or positioning yourself further from the speakers. This is also a class that uses high intensity containers like squatting, jumping jacks etc but low impact options are always offered and rest is encouraged so all fitness levels welcome. It’s also sadly on the third floor of the building with no lift access, hopefully I can find a ground floor space that allows loud music in the future.

Lastly, all genders are welcome.

The first session I am offering on the 7th October is FREE but you still need to book.
You will need to bring your own mat, wear comfy clothes you can move in, layers are best for when it starts to get hot. Bring water and maybe a blanket for when we rest at the end.

Book on the button below and please use an email I can contact you on.
