Outdoor therapy in Folkestone, Kent

I am really excited to announce that I am now opening up some space for in person somatic therapy… outdoors in Folkestone, Kent. This is something I have long wanted to offer to people. Nature for me is the greatest collaborator when it comes to our therapeutic journey or process.

One of the main things I suggest to my clients as a somatic therapist to get outside where possible. To start reconnecting with nature. To start convening with the trees, the rocks, the water, the earth. When we think about Soma/Body we are also remembering the giant body of this earth we are a part of. And nature is a beautiful & supportive container for our healing.

And so it makes complete sense to take therapy outside.

To lean into that connection with our home.
Our bodies are of this earth.

Under a microscope our bones look like tree rings.
The minerals in our body can be found in stones and soil.
Our lungs are mirror images of the trees we share our breath with.
We are 70% water, water that began in the oceans and the rivers.

'Your body is holding all of this. Give it to a bigger body. Give it to the sky.’

Being outside can help us feel more spacious. And when we feel like we have more space, more room to breathe and express we might find it easier to connect with the hard things. To allow our grief & our rage. To say the things that feel too big to say. We might feel less confined and more free.

When we are also in motion, say walking alongside someone, this can feel less confronting and more supportive.
The motion of moving our feet, being in a rhythm with someone else can be deeply resourcing and enhance co-regulation.
My nervous system supporting your nervous system while being supported by the earth under our feet.

Nature can also be our creative collaborator.
How might we relate to the seasons, the roots of trees, the deep time of stones, the life force that is water.

And just as I do online, I will be offering plenty of ways for you to tend to your body & nervous system.

So what would this look like?

I am offering two route options in Folkestone, Kent. The first is a walk over The Warren, the wilder of Folkestone’s beaches.
The second is a more accessible route from the Harbour through the coast park.
We also might not always walk, you might feel more inclined to sit and be in relationship with a specific place.
The session would be led entirely by you with my guidance.
Each session would be 50mins long.

I have limited space for these and I am still offering online sessions if you are interested in somatic therapy but not local to Folkestone or able/want to go outside.

I ask for four weeks minimum commitment and the cost is £250 for four sessions.

You can either contact me on the form below or click on the button to read more about somatic therapy.
